Wonderful atmosphere in the lobby area with a restaurant and bar. Staff was wonderful to me but abrasive to my companion.

We booked the wrong date by mistake and didn’t find out until we got there! But the place was very well located and looked nice! 🤪
Housed in a building dating from 19th century, this apartment is 1.2 miles from the Pollurinn Hot Spring.

Tangs is in a beautiful town. Isafjordur fit all our needs.
We loved X country skiing wild valleys nearby.
Tangs is perfect for exploring far and wide. Or just hanging out recouping.
The owners are very kind and fun!!
The idea base camp for time spent in the Westfjords region.
The idea base camp for time spent in the Westfjords region. If you have a rental car, you can drive anywhere else you'd like to see, but Ísafjörður has the most options for town activities. The location in the fjord is incredible. I would visit again.

This town is wonderful and quaint.
This town is wonderful and quaint. The setting is stunning, with mountains surrounding the entire town. The people there are very friendly, and it is easy to walk around. The streets have beautiful flower plantings, and there is a fun nughtclub where you can meet local townspeople. We highly recommend it!

Stayed two nights in this gem of a town. First night we camped and it was a fantastic campground. Second night was calling for snow so stayed in the hostel. Best Bonus grocery store we have seen with prices much less than anywhere else in Iceland.

Interesting in itself; however, you need a car to explore the area. Side roads, not too difficult, lead to many beautiful sights. I probably said "Wow" more in the few days in Westfjords than any other time.

The drive to Isafjorour we stopped at Dynjandi Waterfall called Thundering Waterfall. It is actually several waterfalls topped by a bridal veil large fall. Well worth the steep hike up. One of the most beautiful waterfall we visited in Iceland. The drive back toward Reykjavik was stunning along five fjords and many waterfalls. Glacier views. Lava fields. And mountains. So wanted to eat at Tjoruhusid. But needed a reservation and could not get in. Recommend making a reservation before you leave home. A perfect ending to our trip to the Westfjords.

Our location was in the center of the historic district,...
Our location was in the center of the historic district, which made it easy for walking to everything. I enjoyed the architecture of the colorful houses in the Old Town neighborhood, The Heritage Museum, and getting fresh seafood from Fiskbud Sjavarfangs, the market down by the harbor. My daughter took a boat tour to Hornstrandir Peninsula for a day, but the weather was not conducive for outdoor activities during our stay so that curtailed the activities that we were interested in doing. We had two delicious fish dinners at Husid and an amazing buffet dinner at Tjoruhusid, which is in an historic log building down by the Heritage Museum. You have to make reservations ahead and they have 2 seatings for dinner. I have never seen such a huge variety of delicious soup, seafood, salads and desserts. Isafjordur is a charming little historic town with so many outdoor activity choices for all ages, fun shopping for handcrafted items and great fresh seafood.
The apartment was quiet, modern and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable. It was useful having a washing machine as we were mid-way through our stay in Iceland and we were able to dry our clothes on the washing line (the weather was warm and sunny during our stay). There is a clothes airer to use inside if the weather is inclement. Guests can use the garden and patios to enjoy good weather. The apartment is just five minutes' walk into town. Sigridur was friendly, helpful and suggested places we could visit.
This is a wonderful place to have as a base of operations while you explore Isafjordur and the West Fjords. We were able to feel at home and rested more here than anywhere else we stayed during our two weeks of exploring Iceland. The host is gracious and personable and the property feels like a home more than a cookie-cutter VRBO/AirBNB. Beautiful view out the windows (even though you are in town) and a short walk to many shops and restaurants. Great place!
The owner was extremely kind, helpful, and accommodating. He helped us find a dinner restaurant at 9:00 pm, book the airport shuttle, and with basically anything else we needed! The room was large, clean, and very comfortable. Also, quiet! There was a fridge and microwave in the room, as well as supplies for making tea/coffee. Great location, easy to walk into downtown Isafjordur, close to gas station and supermarket. Highly recommended.
It has a beautiful location overlooking Isafjordur, with a stream running by, and a sauna. Lots of room for guests, and very comfortable inside with wood stoves on both levels. The history is quite rich, and the owner has gone to great lengths to present how the lodge has evolved from 1929 to its current state.
We were greeted by our host and given a very detailed tour and history of the property, as well as an insider’s perspective of Ísafjörður and the Westfjords. A thoroughly satisfying and delightful experience. Also, the collection of Moomins kitchenware was incredible!
I originally booked a guesthouse room but was upgraded to a hotel room with a private bath. It is a great location near the city center. The breakfast buffet was very nice. The staff were friendly and helped me get to the airport shuttle on time.
Central location - walkable to restaurants, bakeries, bookstores, and the water on both sides. Breakfast was good and in a nice dining room. Note there are two buildings. Rooms in older building have no view. Rooms are large and spartan.
Good basic hostel in Isafjordur, with a private room and comfortable beds, bathroom with good shower, and a kitchen with equipment to prepare your own food and enough place to sit. Friendly staff at Hotel Isafjordur.
Tiny and extremely cozy place, that makes you regret staying for so short. Our host was friendly, hospitable and helpful. Area is quiet but few minutes away from the port and all the restaurants.
Loved everything! Enjoyed every second in this Bungalow and town. The patio is also great. For good and cheap food: try the Thai restaurant at the supermarket. Bed very comfortable. Thumbs up!
The place is amazing! It has all required facilities as well as location itself is amazing. Host is very friendly and helpful. If i return to Iceland will definitely stay here.
Nice apartment in Isafjördur. They upgraded us to better rooms since we were the only guests. The breakfast was good and there are good restaurants in the vicinity.
